Hangzhou Ouden Zhongshi Technology Co., Ltd. (“we”,“us”,“Company”), as the operator of the PettiChat App (“App”,“Service”), fully understands the importance of your personal information and is committed to protecting it in accordance with the law.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information, and informs you of the rights you enjoy.

I. Scope of this Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to all products and services provided through the PettiChat App operated by Hangzhou Ouden Zhongshi Technology Co., Ltd.
This Policy forms an integral part of the PettiChat App Service Agreement and has the same legal effect. If there is any inconsistency regarding personal information protection between this Policy and the Service Agreement, this Policy shall prevail.
II. How We Collect and Use Your Personal Information
We strictly follow legal requirements and the principles of lawfulness, legitimacy, and necessity. We only collect and use the information needed to provide the functions described in this Policy. Our services include core and additional functions, as detailed below:
1. Basic Functions (Account Registration & Login)
To complete account registration, login, and security management, we will collect and use the following information from you:
(a) Mobile Phone Number: When you register or log in to the App, you need to provide your mobile phone number. We use this information to create a unique account identifier for you, perform security verification (e.g., to prevent account theft, malicious registration), and contact you when necessary (e.g., account anomalies, service changes).
If you refuse to provide this information, you will be unable to complete registration and use the Service.
2. Core Functions (Pet Audio Processing)
To provide you with core services such as pet emotion recognition, storage, and playback, we will collect and use the following information:
(a) Geolocation: When you use the pet location feature, we will request the geolocation information from your mobile phone to determine the corresponding location of you and your pet.
(b) Pet Information: When you use personalized pet interaction features, we will collect information such as pet videos/photos/name/gender that you upload. Unless authorized by you, we will not perform secondary processing or sell your pet's information.
3. Additional Functions & System Permissions
To improve your user experience, we may request your permission for the following.
You may revoke any such permission in your device settings at any time. We will no longer collect the corresponding information, but it may affect the use of related functions.
(a) Storage Permission: Used to save audio files generated by the App to your device.
(b) Microphone Permission: Used to record pet or environmental sounds through the device microphone.
(c) Notification Permission: Used to send you notifications related to service status, account security, etc.
(d) Location Permission: Used to assist the pet location feature.
(e) Bluetooth Permission: Used for network configuration/pairing.
4. Situations Where Consent Is Not Required
You acknowledge that, under applicable laws, we may collect or use personal information without your prior consent when:
(a) related to national security or public interest;
(b) necessary for fulfilling statutory duties or legal obligations;
(c) necessary for signing or performing a contract at your request;
(d) required during public health emergencies or to protect life, health, or property;
(e) the information is publicly disclosed by yourself;
(f) the information is obtained lawfully from public sources (e.g., legal news reports, government disclosures);
(g) other circumstances permitted by laws and regulations.
III. How We Share, Transfer, and Disclose Your Personal Information
Certain features of the App are supported by service providers, and thus we may share necessary information with partners to ensure proper functionality and user experience.
When cooperating with such partners, we will adhere to the following principles: (a) Principle of Legitimacy and Minimum Necessity: Data processing shall have a legal basis and legitimate purpose, and be limited to the minimum scope necessary to achieve the processing purpose; (b) Principle of Maximizing Users' Right to Know and Right to Decide: The rights of users to be informed and to decide regarding the processing of their personal information shall be fully respected during data processing; (c) Principle of Maximizing Security Safeguard Capabilities: We will take necessary measures to ensure the security of processed personal information, prudently assess partners' purposes for using data, conduct comprehensive assessments of their security safeguard capabilities, and require them to comply with relevant requirements of cooperation agreements.
We never sell your personal information to any third party.We may share your information only under these circumstances:
1. With Your Explicit Consent
2. Sharing with Authorized Partners: Solely for achieving the purposes described in this Policy, we may share necessary information with the following types of partners:
(a) Cloud Storage Service Providers (e.g., Alibaba Cloud OSS, Tencent Cloud COS): Used solely for securely storing your audio files, with no access permissions.
(b) SMS Verification Code Service Providers (e.g., Ronglian Cloud, Alibaba Cloud SMS): Used solely for sending verification codes and other security notifications, without retaining phone numbers.
(c) Email Service Providers: Used solely for sending verification codes and other security notifications, without retaining email addresses.
(d) Geolocation Service Providers: Used solely for map display/geolocation queries.
The aforementioned partners have signed Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and strict confidentiality agreements with us and are prohibited from using the information for any other purpose.
3. For Legal Compliance and Dispute Resolution: As required by laws and regulations, for the needs of litigation dispute resolution, or according to legally required requests from administrative or judicial authorities.
4. During Corporate Transactions: In the event of mergers, acquisitions, asset transfers, or similar transactions, if personal information transfer is involved, we will require the new company or organization holding your personal information to continue to be bound by this Policy.
IV. How We Protect and Store Your Personal Information
We highly value your information security and strive to take various reasonable physical, electronic, and managerial security measures to protect your user information, preventing unauthorized access, disclosure, use, modification, damage, or loss.
1. Security Protection Measures:
(a) Technical Protection: Use HTTPS + TLS 1.3 encryption for data transmission; desensitize and AES-256 encrypt storage of sensitive information (e.g., phone numbers); implement isolated storage and access control for audio files.
(b) Organizational Management: Implement strict internal data access permission controls and audit mechanisms, provide privacy and security training for all employees, and require signing of confidentiality agreements. All core data access operations are logged and saved for the prescribed period for audit purposes.
(c) Emergency Response Mechanism: If a data security incident (leak, loss, etc.) occurs, we will notify you promptly with: the basic situation and potential impact, measures we have taken or will take, suggestions for your own prevention, and remedial measures for you. We will inform you via email, letter, phone, push notification, etc. If individual notification is impractical, we will issue a public announcement. We will also report incidents to regulators as required.
2. Data Storage Location
All personal information collected and generated within China is stored within the territory of the People’s Republic of China, unless otherwise required by law.
3. Data Retention Period
We retain information only for the minimum period necessary:
(a) Phone number: Deleted within 30 days after account cancellation
(b) Audio files: Deleted within 7 days after you delete them or cancel your account
After expiration, we will delete or anonymize the data.
4. Special Notice
Despite our best efforts, no security measures are absolutely fault-free due to technological limitations and possible malicious attacks.
We strongly recommend that you take proactive measures to protect the security of your personal information, such as using complex passwords, changing passwords regularly, and not disclosing your account passwords and related personal information to others.
V. Special Provisions for Minors
We attach great importance to protecting minors’ personal information. If you are under 14, you should use the Service only under the guidance of a legal guardian.
If we discover that we have collected children’s information without guardian consent, we will delete such data promptly.
VI. Updates and Notifications
We may revise this Policy from time to time. If updates result in substantial reduction of your rights, we will notify you separately through in-app push notifications, pop-ups, or announcements on the [Settings] page. Your continued use of the Service constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
